从地极
。这是一个夸张词,并不一定指遥远。它可能反映了诗人的心情。诗人生动地描写了他离开圣所的感受。他远离圣所,似乎远至地极。他认为耶路撒冷是世界的中心。
发昏
。直译是“虚弱”,可能指失望。
更高的磐石
。东方旅行者在无边无际的炎热沙漠里发现一块大磐石,就很高兴,因为可以在其荫下得到休息,或到其顶上躲避野兽或其他袭击者(见赛32:2)。祈求得到忍耐和提高,要胜过祈求得到拯救。从高处看,困难就会减弱。见E·约翰逊所写的赞美诗《有时阴荫甚深》(《教会诗歌》633首)。其副歌的灵感就来自本客节。
